When I first started practicing Tao my teacher asked me what percentage of the time I was in control. I remember answering “at least 99% of the time.” A year later he asked me the same question, and I answered “on a good day about 2% of the time.”
Yep. Isn't the true experience of being in control recognizing that we're not really in control of outer circumstances, and being ok with it? The only thing we can really control, after all, is how we experience the outer world inside of ourselves. Simple, not easy. =)
